Ana's Story

During my internship I learned how to listen. I believe there are different ways of listening. Listening and nodding, and listening with the intention of wanting to learn. It might seem easy, but it really isn't. As the internship has progressed, I have been developing this skill and have been able to improve different aspects on a professional level and be less reactive.

The biggest challenge I’ve faced was communication. Although I'm Spanish and fluent in English, many times we have a barrier that prevents us from expressing exactly what we want, but I'm not referring to this barrier in terms of language. The most difficult barrier to overcome was communication among my stakeholders. Many times we didn't understand each other, and this was a problem because at the end of a task, both parties had different expectations. However, one day I decided to change the dynamics of the situation and approached them with the intention of understanding their personalities more deeply to improve the working dynamic. From that moment on, things started to flow and improve.

The most enjoyable aspect of my internship at EuroDev has undoubtedly been the organization's dedicated effort in arranging extracurricular activities. With a designated party committee within the company, we've had the opportunity to engage in various activities such as skiing and sports like curling. It was particularly rewarding to reach the finals, competing alongside locals, which truly motivated and bonded the team.

Also, I have greatly enjoyed the fact that there is a foosball and ping pong table in the same company, where you can disconnect and compete with your coworkers. 

Without a doubt, what I will remember the most is the people at EuroDev; they are the company's most valuable asset. Being surrounded by around 25 nationalities enriches you as a person. It makes you see things differently and learn from them.
